Seeking Members for New Advisory Committee

Cosumnes Community Services District is accepting applications for members, who are highly-motivated and have a passion for community, to serve on a new volunteer advisory committee.

Volunteer advisory committees are an integral part of local government, intended to provide advice and recommendations from a resident’s perspective. Advisory committees help plan the future of their communities, bringing together disparate views that might not otherwise be heard.

The newly formed Landscape & Lighting Districts Advisory Committee is primarily responsible for making recommendations to Cosumnes CSD regarding park and landscape maintenance budgets, projects and planning. Committee members will gain the opportunity to work alongside others who value parks, landscape maintenance, sustainability and the environment.

Committee members will serve 3-year terms, and regular meetings are scheduled six times per year. An ideal committee member is willing to provide updates on the state of landscape maintenance in their neighborhoods, support outreach efforts, and assist with volunteer events.

The committee currently has 11 vacancies. One seat has been reserved for a youth member entering their freshman, sophomore or junior year of high school in 2021-2022 school year. This provides a unique opportunity for students to learn about local government and serve their community.

Cosumnes CSD encourages residents to take advantage of this chance to become a neighborhood leader and help build community.
