The Pumpkin Show Will Go On... With Modifications
We missed you, pumpkin! This year, we are focusing on the heart of the Elk Grove Giant Pumpkin Festival: hometown connections and community traditions. The scaled-back event will feature pumpkin themed attractions, carnival rides, delicious treats, and more!
Given the continuing concerns and health guidance around COVID-19, the Giant Pumpkin Regatta has been cancelled since it attracts a high concentration of people around the lake. The Giant Pumpkin & Produce Weigh-Off will be held as planned on the morning of Oct. 2 with social distancing protocols in place. Check out the Kids Zone activities that will be happening this year, including carnival rides, arts and crafts, and Splat-o'-Lantern with Cosumnes Fire Department. The Pumpkin Patch will also return and proceeds will benefit Elk Grove Food Bank Services. Don't forget to sign up for the Festival's recipe, scarecrow or art contests!
We are grateful for 27 years of tremendous support from our attendees, growers, volunteers, sponsors, and all who are involved!

Health and Safety Measures
The event will be held in accordance with current State and County health and safety guidance for outdoor events. California Department of Public Health guidelines recommend that attendees be fully vaccinated. If not vaccinated, guidelines recommend that attendees obtain a negative COVID-19 test within 3 days before the event. Guidelines also recommend that attendees wear a mask.
We have taken additional measures to meet health and safety requirements, including removing some high-touch activities like bounce houses and reducing the number of vendor and activity booths to allow for more open space and pedestrian flow. Masks will be made available to attendees upon request and handwashing and hand sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the event site.
Attendees should follow CDC guidelines to protect themselves and others from COVID-19, including getting vaccinated, wearing a mask, washing hands often, covering nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing, keeping distance from others whenever possible, and staying home when sick.
These plans are subject to change. Check back for the latest information and festival updates.

The Elk Grove Giant Pumpkin Festival is held during the first weekend in October by the Cosumnes Community Services District (CSD) in partnership with many sponsors.
