Deputy Chief Troy Bair leads the Operations Division, which provides fire, technical rescue, and advanced life support emergency medical services, including ambulance transportation, to an area covering more than 157 square miles and a population in excess of 185,000.
Responding to nearly 16,000 requests for emergency service annually, the dedicated men and women of the Cosumnes Fire Department are committed to providing extraordinary service to their community through prevention, preparedness, and emergency response, and strive to exceed expectations at all times.

Battalion Chiefs

Battalion Chiefs Rick Clarke, Shawn Holden, and Kevin McLean are the shift Battalion Chiefs who are responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of their respective shifts.

Staff & Equipment Size

The Department staffs 8 engine companies, 1 ladder truck company, 7 paramedic ambulances, and a command officer on a 24-hour basis.

Additionally, the Operations Division cross-staffs the following apparatus as seasons and emergency circumstances dictate: 8 wildland fire engines and a heavy foam unit, Heavy Rescue unit, technical rescue trailer, mass decontamination trailer, mass casualty incident trailer, and a swift water rescue boat.
