CAR SEAT INSPECTIONS

Car Seat Check Up

Is your child riding in the correct car seat for their age, weight and height? As of January 1, 2012, all California children under 8-years-old must ride in a car seat or booster seat in the back seat.

Have your car seat inspected for FREE by a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician from the Cosumnes CSD Fire Department. Appointments are available in Elk Grove on Wednesday mornings from 8 am to 12 noon. Please call for information on appointments in the Galt area.

Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children under 14. When properly used, a car seat reduces the risk of death by 71 percent for rear-facing infants and 54 percent for forward-facing toddlers. It is important to consider a child’s safety every time they ride — whether in the family car, traveling with friends or relatives, or in a rental car or taxi.
