Open to the public in August 2004, The Wackford Community and Aquatic Complex is located next to Laguna Community Park, on the corner of Bruceville Road and Big Horn Blvd. Named after Barbara Morse Wackford, the CSD's first Parks and Recreation Administrator, 2002 Elk Grove Citizen of the Year and California Parks and Recreation Society's Hall of Fame inductee, the facility features an aquatics complex, reception and meeting rooms, full court gymnasium, preschool room, teen center, skate park, and lobby.

The Valley Oak Ballroom can host 200 for dining and 300 conference style seating. It is THE place for your wedding, reception, meeting or special events! The Aquatic area includes a 25-yard by 25-meter competition pool, a zero depth recreation pool, and a splash pool.

Wackford Aquatic Complex The Wackford Community and Aquatic Complex features a10-lane by 25 yard competition lap pool, a zero-depth entry recreation pool with a 146 foot water slide and waterplay features, and an in water playground for children 8 years and under. The competition pool is the home of Elk Grove Unified School District high school swimming & water polo teams, as well as the Elk Grove Piranhas. The facility is open on weekends through September for recreational swim. Adult lap swim is offered year round throughout the week and is the #1 adult excercise for a total body and cardio work out. In addition, you can find many water aerobic classes specializing in non-impact, low impact, and speciality classes offered year round in deep water and seasonally from April-October in shallow water. Public recreation swimming for families to enjoy all pools and amenities is open seasonally from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Valley Oak Ballroom Features include: a half radius glass wall, spacious patio area, full use of the stainless steel industrial size kitchen, oak dance floor, ceiling mounted projector screen, and a public address system with CD player, tape player, and microphone. Adjustable lighting and window shades help set the perfect ambiance for your event. Our facility staff will make sure your room is set-up prior to your arrival and cleaned after your departure. Staff will be on-site during your entire event for any assistance you may need.
