The Cosumnes Community Services District (CSD) announced the selection of Joshua Green as its next Parks and Recreation Administrator. Green brings 17 years of experience in the field of Parks and Recreation to the District.
Throughout his career, Green has demonstrated commitment to collaboration and to developing substantial and purposeful growth opportunities benefiting individuals, organizations and communities.
For the past 11 years at the City of Portland’s Parks Bureau, Green worked within the Workforce & Community Alliances, Recreation, and Assets & Development Divisions. This provided him with a broad understanding of Parks and Recreation services including recreation programming, partnership development, and life-cycle asset management.
In 2009, the Oregon Community Education Association awarded him Community Programs & Services Community Educator of the Year for his work in recreation and education partnership.
“The CSD is proud to provide parks and recreation programming to the Elk Grove community, including 95 parks and 11 recreation facilities,” said CSD General Manager Maureen Zamarripa. “We are excited to continue these vital services under Joshua’s leadership.”
The CSD Parks and Recreation Administrator oversees park planning and maintenance, recreation programs such as aquatics, sports and the Emerald Lakes Golf Course, and community services such as special events, leisure activities, youth and teen programs.
“It is an honor to be selected as the Administrator of Parks and Recreation for the Cosumnes CSD,” said Green. “I am excited to work with the talented staff and dedicated board of directors to continue to provide quality services in a community so rich with recreational opportunities.”
