CSD Appoints New Parks and Recreation Administrator

Maureen Zamarripa

The Cosumnes CSD announced the appointment of Maureen Zamarripa as its next Parks and Recreation Administrator. Zamarripa has more than 20 years of experience providing project, staff and budget management services for public agencies in Sacramento County. Her appointment is effective March 1, upon the retirement of current Park Administrator Bob Roessler.

“CSD is proud to provide award-winning parks and recreation programming to the Elk Grove community, including 94 parks and 11 recreation facilities,” said Jeff Ramos, General Manager for CSD. “We are excited to continue and expand these services under Maureen’s proven leadership.”

The CSD Parks and Recreation Administrator oversees park planning and maintenance, recreation programs such as aquatics, sports and the Emerald Lakes Golf Course, and community services such as special events, leisure activities, youth development and teen programs.

“I am thrilled to return to CSD in this leadership role,” said Zamarripa. “CSD has an outstanding record and reputation for well-planned and managed park facilities and recreation experiences for Elk Grove residents. I look forward to partnering with CSD staff to continue their great work.”

Zamarripa joins CSD after eight years as District Administrator for the Fair Oaks Recreation and Parks District. Her responsibilities at Fair Oaks included developing a 10-year master plan for the district and managing all district programming, staff and budget. She implemented “It’s My Park Day,” a volunteer event involving up to 350 volunteers to improve local park facilities and helped grow the Fair Oaks Chicken Festival to a regional event drawing 15,000 attendees.

Prior to Fair Oaks, Zamarripa worked as a Deputy General Manager for Cosumnes CSD, providing project, financial and general management across CSD program areas, including fire, emergency medical services, parks and recreation. Zamarripa spent the first 11 years of her career at the Sacramento County Municipal Services Agency, including roles as the Chief of Development and Surveyor Services and Manager of Special Districts, to help oversee capital projects such as libraries, transit and parks.
