Lawrence Park Playground Arson FireOn Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at approximately 6:30 pm, the age 5-12 play equipment at Lawrence Park was set on fire and burned to the ground. 2013 Summer Activity Guide Now Available We are moving right along this year as we approach the summer season. The Summer 2013 Activity Guide is now available for viewing online and has been delivered to all Elk Grove residents! Now accepting registration for Elk Grove residents. Non-resident registration will begin May 1. As always we are looking forward to summer season packed with memorable events and enriching programs!

Summer Fun with CSD Aquatics The days are getting warmer, what better way to cool off than to enjoy the local pool! CSD offers a variety of aquatic activities for families:

Aquatic Season passes are on sale. Beginning Memorial Day weekend, cool off at the Wackford Aquatic Complex and Jerry Fox Swim Center during recreation swim hours. Passes include special evening swim nights. Purchase your pass before June 3rd and save an additional $10!

The award winning swim lesson program offered by the CSD provides learn to swim options from infants to adults. Please visit the swim lesson classes and choose a class and come join us in the water. Use the E-Reg icon to register for a class now or call 405-5600 or 405-5300.

Celebrate your birthday or other special occasion with a Pool Party at the Wackford Aquatic Complex this summer. Party hosts are ready to help make your special day memorable. Plan your party date early as a limited number of spaces are available.

Private pool rentals offer you exclusive use of the facility for a minimum of 2-hours for your special gatherings such as family events, graduation parties, private birthday celebrations, and more. All pool rentals included certified lifeguards trained by the CSD and the American Red Cross.

Community Support Program Accepting Applications for 2013-14 Events The Parks and Recreation Department is revamping its program that lends support to local non-profit groups. A new application cycle has been introduced for those groups producing events scheduled to occur between July 2013 and June 2014. The timeline coincides with the District’s next budget cycle. Help Plan Your Parks A community outreach meeting was held on October 30th to review design proposals for two new parks in the Laguna Ridge area of Elk Grove. Learn Where to Burn / Apply for a Burn Permit The Cosumnes CSD Fire Department has created a new interactive burn area map that illustrates where residents can legally burn and where burning is strictly forbidden. The map features a colorized burn indicator, zoom tools and an address finder to see if you are able to obtain a burn permit. Click to find out If, Where and When you can burn.
